Lluvia en el desierto...Rain in the desert...

Not only did we have International Week this week, but it RAINED!  This is a very rare experience for people living in Qatar.  I was in the middle of my last class of the day and thinking that for fifth graders the rain might not be a huge deal.  I was quite mistaken.  They went crazy!  I have to say that I was pretty excited myself.  I took them outside to play "Simon Says" in Spanish for a brief moment and then allowed them to run around for about 20 seconds.  When I did call them all back in to line up, one student mentioned, "That was the best 20 seconds of my life!"  After we went back inside and everyone seemed to calm down a bit, it started to pour...

Their faces were priceless and they sure helped me make my first rain in Qatar an unforgettable one!
